Palliative care planning for the elderly

Aim: to identify information and gaps on planning of palliative care for seniors. Methodology: integrative revision of 27 articles identified on databases: BVS, BDENF, Lilacs, Web Of Science and Scopus. Results: analysis arranged among five thematic categories: concepts and purposes, communication, linking with specialities, difficulties and challenges and directives preceded by will. Ineffective communication and deficit at professional formation are challenges for palliative assistance. Conclusion: Professional training courses are necessary to favour commprehension of palliative care purposes, to effective communication, to taking decisions process and for standardizing conducts.
