Abstract

Objective: to describe the clinical profile and evolution of the nutritional status of critically ill individuals victims of traumatic brain injury. Method: cohort, retrospective, observational and analytical. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square and Mann-Whitney tests. Results: there was a significant difference (p <0.001) for nutritional diagnosis and weight on admission and discharge. Revealing a profile of patients without compromised nutritional status at admission (not malnourished = 222; 90.98%) and malnourished at discharge (Non-serious and severe malnutrition = 225; 92.21%). Average weight loss of 6.19Kg (8.69%). Conclusion: the individuals evaluated in this study evolved negatively in relation to their nutritional status, revealing a profile of malnourished individuals at the time of discharge.
