Resumo

Objetivo: apresentar as evidências sobre o uso de máscaras por profissionais da saúde e pela a população em geral para a proteção contra a COVID-19. Método: trata-se de uma revisão integrativa utilizando 5 bases bibliográficas, além de busca manual. Resultados: Das 630 publicações identificadas, foram incluídas 32. Todas as máscaras (respiradores, máscaras cirúrgicas e de tecido) oferecem alguma proteção contra a COVID-19.Conclusão: são necessárias medidas adicionais, como o distanciamento social e físico, etiqueta respiratória e higiene das mãos. Estratégias e ações de educação voltadas ao uso e reuso adequados das máscaras, bem como os riscos e cuidados quanto à auto-infecção.
