Abstract

Objective: To describe the sociodemographic profile and epidemiological indicators of tuberculosis in the Federal District, Brazil, from 2015 to 2023. Method: Descriptive study based on secondary data from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN) and the Mortality Information System (SIM). Cases residing in the Federal District were included, excluding those with a change of diagnosis. Sociodemographic, clinical, and outcome variables were analyzed using descriptive estatistics. Results: 3.136 tuberculosis cases were reported. The incidence rate increased from 10.1 (2021) to 13.4 per 100,000 population (2023). The cure rate declined from 72.2% (2015) to 53.7% (2023), while treatment abandonment increased from 5.3% to 14.7%. TB-HIV coinfection reached 12.9% in 2023, and the proportion of cases among people deprived of liberty reached 18.8%. Conclusion: An increase in incidence and inequalities across regions and vulnerable populations was observed, reinforcing the need to strength enactive case finding, directly observed therapy, and targeted interventions.
